Support Areas
The social support work that the Greek shipping community has traditionally performed on a collective basis was reallocated from the Union of Greek Shipowners to the Greek Shipowners’ Social Welfare Company SYN-ENOSIS. Past activities undertaken in recent years and those currently underway are outlined below.
FOOD AID
SYN-ENOSIS, in cooperation with social care organizations, secures the provision of food and personal hygiene supplies for families with underage children living in conditions of deep poverty.
MOREHEALTH
SYN-ENOSIS, in cooperation with medical organizations, secures the provision of free medical care and checkups for social groups that for economic or social reasons do not have access to healthcare
MORESOCIAL CARE
SYN-ENOSIS supports organizations, institutions and social welfare units protecting vulnerable social groups through the provision of basic food supplies, heating oil, repair works and/or equipment
MOREEDUCATION
SYN-ENOSIS undertakes repair and restoration works, as well as the upgrading of Merchant Marine Academies’ infrastructures and equipment, to support maritime education
MOREPROJECTS OF PUBLIC INTEREST
SYN-ENOSIS undertakes projects of the greater public interest and projects to alleviate the negative impact of emergency conditions
MORECRISIS MANAGEMENT
SYN-ENOSIS and members of the shipping community respond with great sensitivity to sudden incidents that strike the country and are mobilized to handle emergency crises.
