Public Call for applications

The John S. Latsis Public Benefit Foundation and the Non-profit Greek Shipowners’ Social Welfare Company ‘SYN-ENOSIS’ announce a public call for submission of applications for participation in the “Collaborating for Health” Programme. The Programme’s goal is to finance small and medium-scale projects, in order to meet urgent needs of the public health sector and to improve the services of health care providers in Greece through: a) supply of medical equipment and b) upgrade of infrastructure.

The Programme is addressed to public health service providers (hospitals and health centers) as well as non-profit organisations, active in the health sector in Greece.

Through the Programme, donations in kind will be made, co-financed by the John S. Latsis Public Benefit Foundation and the Non-profit Greek Shipowners’ Social Welfare Company ‘SYN-ENOSIS’. The donations fall under the following categories: a) small-scale donations of up to €50,000, incl. VAT per donation; and b) medium-scale donations of up to €150,000, incl. VAT per donation.

Applications may be only submitted online through the application form available here (in Greek).

The deadline for submitting the applications is Friday, April 5 2019, at 5 pm.


The results will be announced on Friday, June 14 2019, until 5 pm on the websites and social media pages of the Programme's funders, while all candidates will be informed via email.

In 2018, the programme “COLLABORATING FOR HEALTH“ began its implementation following the joint initiative of the Latsis Foundation and SYN-ENOSIS. The aim of the program is to meet imperative needs in the field of Public Health and to contribute to the upgrade of the infrastructure, as well as the strengthening of the services of public health providers in our country.

In the context of the program, and together with the Latsis Foundation, the requests of healthcare providers from all over the country, regarding mainly the procurement of medical equipment and the upgrade of public or other non-profit providers’ healthcare facilities, are being assessed.
In 2018, a donation of an angiographic coronary system was made to the “Sismanogleio General Hospital of Attica - Ama-lia Fleming” in order to upgrade the Hemodynamic Depart-ment of Interventional Cardiology of the hospital.

Moreover, the following donations were launched during the year:

Donation of two hospital beds with ulcer prevention inte-grated surface, alongside with electronic weighting scale, as well as a plasmapheresis machine and continuous methods, aiming to upgrade the Navy Hospital of Athens.

Donation of medical equipment, in cooperation with the organization “Pediatric Trauma Care” at the General Hospital – M.D. Filiates, in order to improve the hospitalization of children and a donation of medical supplies to the Paxos Health Center for the equipment of the Pediatric Center.

Donation of gastroenterological endoscopic equipment for the upgrade of the Gastroenterological Department of Evangelismos General Hospital.
